***PLEASE NOTE***
The Town of Brighton HAS NOT rescheduled the Town wide revaluation project that was suspended in the Spring of 2025.
There WILL NOT be a revaluation for the 2026 Assessment Roll.
About the Assessor
The Town Assessor is appointed by the Town Board for a term of six years.
The Assessor’s duties are specified in New York State Real Property Tax Law by maintaining accurate records of real property ownership and physical data. The assessor analyzes the real estate sales and transactions within the town of Brighton to fairly distribute the total tax burden across all property owners by determining up to date assessed values that are reflective of the current market. This ensures that no property owner pays more or less than their fair share of the tax levy. The assessor is responsible for determining the eligibility of exemptions, reviews the transfer of real property, the administration of grievance & tax certiorari process and the continuous management of the towns real property valuation database.
Online Property and Assessment Information
The Monroe County website offers assessments, current sales information, property inventory and maps. Information is available for both residential and commercial properties using the Monroe County Real Property Portal.
Parcel Inventory Verification
We are continually updating the Property Inventory through building permits, sales data and interior/exterior inspections. Equitable assessments require proper data. If you have a change in inventory or notice that the inventory we have on file is incorrect, please notify our office so that we can revise our records. You can call our office Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm at (585) 784-5215 or email us at assessor@townofbrighton.org
